Well, so much for waiting. I received a call this morning that there is a sliver of good weather and the only chance for the boat is this afternoon. Me and the few other people waiting for the boat are all scrambling to get packed and grab last minute supplies. The only constant here is change, but I like it that way. I’m a month into the journey now and I’ve learned to always stay prepared. The bad news is, that means there is likely some gnarly weather on the other side. We’ll be arriving at night, luckily it stays daylight so late. I heard there is a farmer that lives there and that he lets travelers set up camp on his property, so I’ll likely stay there for the night. If the weather is too rainy tomorrow I’ll probably hunker down and wait for it to pass. It should be clear on Tuesday. In any case, I’ll be out of service for several days until I reach the nearest town on the other side of the mountains in Argentina. Just an fyi to my Mom :)
So while I didn't get to finish writing some updates and stories, I did get to clean and repack my gear. Priorities. Literally publishing this and heading for the boat. Back to Argentina!
See you out there,
J. James
